The General Assembly,
Recalling the Charter with the United Nations such as the purposes and principles included therein, Remembering the metabolic rate of the UNESCO which states that 'since wars come from the minds of men, it can be in the minds of men that the defences of peace must be constructed', Recalling likewise the Widespread Declaration of Human Rights and other relevant international musical instruments of the Un system, Realizing that peace is not only the absence of turmoil, but requires a positive, powerful participatory procedure where conversation is encouraged and conflicts will be solved within a spirit of mutual understanding and cooperation, Recognizing also that the end from the cold conflict has increased possibilities pertaining to strengthening a culture of peace, Expressing deep matter about the persistence and proliferation of violence and conflict in a variety of parts of the earth, Recognizing additional the need to remove all types of discrimination and intolerance, which include those based upon race, color, sex, vocabulary, religion, personal or different opinion, national, ethnic or perhaps social source, property, handicap, birth or perhaps other position, Recalling their resolution 52/15 proclaiming the entire year 2000 the 'International Year for the Culture of Peace' as well as resolution 53/25 proclaiming the period 2001-2010 as the 'International Decade to get a Culture of Peace and nonviolence for the Children in the World', Recognizing the important role UNESCO continually play in the promotion of a lifestyle of serenity, 1 .
